Cancer: Know It Before It Is Too Late

“Chinmoy was my best friend. He had always been one since the school days. One day, all of a sudden, I got a message from him on Facebook. It read “My father has passed away in the morning”-  flabbergasted, awestruck and barely able to think, I called him back and asked him the reason. His reply was succinct, yet effective-Cancer! “He was diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer 4 months prior and everything kind of fell apart at that point”- his reply had a hint of grasping and sighing throat which was evidence that he had been overcome by sadness”.
Cancer: Know It Before It Is Too Late

Cancer, an uncontrollable growth of cells that replace everything around it, is a malignancy that hides pretty well. For it is damn near impossible to notice it in the initial stages. That might‘ve been the reason as to why my friend lost his dear father.

This stealthy nature of cancer is so prevalent that the symptoms that it presents itself in its initial stages are pretty common. Therefore, it is fairly easy to digress from the path of the right diagnoses and it leads to nothing but disappointment, wrong medications and if you have followed it long enough, you will be too late to do anything about it.

That brings us to the purpose of this article, to teach you how to take notice of the initial symptoms and act upon it so that there might be still hoping for your loved ones:
  • Changes in the habits regarding the bowel movement and bladder: As minuscule as it might sound, if there s a drastic change in an individual habit regarding bowel or bladder, there might be something wrong with the metabolism. While the chances of actually having cancer are quite slim, chances are still present, especially when none of the over the counter medication is helping in this regard.
  • The throat is constantly sore with no chance of relaxation or healing: throat cancer is something that is especially prevalent in India. You can contribute it to the blunder that is overconsumption of tobacco. If there is no relaxation to the throat, you might want to look beyond OTC medicines and actually visit the doctor.
  • Blood discharge at unusual times: Discharge of blood is mostly associated with cancer. Blood in a cough might be throat, lungs or stomach cancer, blood in the kidneys might be a malignancy of those organs. Blood discharge is a pretty vehement sign that something is wrong. Therefore, doctor’s appointment shouldn’t be a second thought.
  • Lumps on breasts, testicles or elsewhere: Internet savvies among you might have heard of Furious Pete, a competitive eater who recently came out that he has testicular cancer. Once he was that his left testicle has grown 4 times the original size, he knew that it was cancer. If you encounter such unexplained growth anywhere on your body, then no matter how small they are, you should get checked as soon as possible.
  • The trouble with digesting and swallowing: If there is an issue with swallowing or digesting a certain food, then there are chances that cancer cells have taken refuge along the digestive tract.
  • Obvious growth: Unless it is leukemia, then you must know that cancer is a very apparent disease. Therefore, at times, its symptoms present itself as obvious growths that you cannot ignore under any circumstances.
  • Constant irritation in the throat: As you already might have known, constant cough for over the period of three weeks is an obvious sign of tuberculosis. However, such a symptom is not exclusive to this particular disease. Cancer can be the other cause.
